=Professor in Photonics.

=Authored/co-authored some 170 papers in referenced international journals and conferences.

=9 European, US and PCT invention patents, 10 Chinese invention patents, more than 40 European design patents.

=Principal investigator, co-investigator and principal researcher for some 30 international/national projects including EPSRC, UK INNOVATE, UK TSB, EU FP-7 etc.

=Over 30 years of experience in field of fibre optics, Optical fibre laser technology, Interferometric optics, Fibre grating technologies, Fibre devices and planar photonic devices, Laser processing of optical materials, Optical sensing technologies, Optical spectroscopic technology, Polymer optical fibre grating technology, Microwave photonics, Biphotonics, Precision measurement and metrology, Metasurface technology. 

=Regular reviewer of some 30 international journals.

=Teaching experience in both UK and China universities.

=Working experience in both UK and China industry.
